How did they get my key? My keys are never out of my possession.
It is a very scary thought. Have you ever given your key to a babysitter? How about a maid or cleaning service? Or a parking lot attendant or valet? How about your garage mechanic? It costs about $1.99 for a thief to get your key duplicated at any one of more than 30,000 hardware or 26,000 discount stores nationwide. Even an unskilled thief can get a copy of your key made by writing down the code stamped on it —and it only takes moments. Locks provide no protection if others can copy your keys! And how about the locks on your doors? If they are like most locks available at many retail stores, they have very limited combinations — meaning the chances of your neighbor's key fitting your door are as high as 1 in 50. Start protecting possesions and come look at our large selection of restricted keyways, including our best-selling Medeco locks, to guarantee that your key will never be copied without your knowledge again.

What kind of locks and keys should be used for a place of business?
Updating to a keyless access system can be very effective. It allows the business owner to quickly activate and deactivate employee access in the event that there is a staff change. Many of the systems also offer the ability to track which employee entered and exited the building and when they did so. Click Here to learn about all the benefits you can get from installing a keyless access system today.

What kind of locks and doors should I use on the exterior entrances to prevent burglary of my residence?
Exterior doors should be strong enough to withstand forced entry. Exterior doors should be made of heavy solid wood or even better, metal. All strike plates and frames should be anchored to the main frame of the home and the frame should be free of warps or cracks. We recommend that you have one of our highly trained service technicians come out to evaluate your situation to make sure that your home is protected as well as it can be. As for hardware, we suggest that you put a Medeco Deadbolt on your door. If you decide to go a different route, we have the largest selections of deadbolts in the state to choose from. Come visit our showroom to find the best hardware for your residence.

I forgot and/or lost the combination to my safe, how do I get it opened?
You can have a safe expert open it like Bulger Safe and Lock. A safe expert (which usually means a member of the Safe and Vault Technicians Association) usually can open a safe by either "manipulation" or drilling to access the lock's internals and then working the lock. Drilling can be repaired and leave the safe in excellent condition.

What would be an inexpensive way to keep my valuables secure in my home?
Have a bolted safe installed in the closet of the master bedroom. Have the safe bolted to the floor. This way a burglar (and his buddy) cannot take it away to open it later at his convenience. The safe is where you would keep your valuables when you are not using them – jewelry, checkbook, important papers like birth certificates, social security cards, spare cash and spare keys. Many safes designed for the home are also fire resistant, ensuring that if there were a fire, your valuables and important paper would survive.

What happens if something goes wrong after you guys are closed?
No need to worry. We have a service technician on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It does cost more to have a technician come out after hours, so if it is not an emergency, we recommend that you wait until business hours to set up the service call, so that you can save your company money.

What's wrong with the cheap locks that you can find at Home Depot?
Don't settle for the cheap doorknobs and deadbolts you find at your local hardware store. Your local hardware store is your one-stop-shop place to help you with all your home improvement needs. This is true, but it should not be your one-stop-shop for protecting your home and your family. The locks you find at Home Depot or Lowes may look the same, but looks can be deceiving. The locks they sell are made of cheap metals that will bend and break at the slightest attempt at forced entry. Start protecting your family today and come by to look at our Medeco Deadbolts. They not only are visually appealing they are hundreds of times stronger then the chintzy pieces of pot metal you will find at Home Depot, Fred Meyer, or Lowes.

I have heard very good things about Medeco. Is that a good product?
Yes! Medeco is an excellent product. Medeco is the top of the line lock for your business. You want to avoid ordering directly from Medeco though. It often takes multiple weeks to get the keys directly from the factory. By using Bulger's Medeco, you get to see the products before you purchase them, can set up master key systems, you get protection against unwanted key duplication, and best of all you don't have to wait weeks or even days. Bulger Safe and Lock provides same day key duplication and can even ship the keys to you next day.
